Grayson will be one year old tomorrow. For those of you who don't know Grayson, he is our grandson. Thinking that I have not seen him for 8 months brings tears to my eyes.
Last Saturday we went to a shower for a new arrival into the midst of our little Baha'i Community in Tianjin. She is 3 1/2. Her name is Meng Ying. She has just been placed with a lady who lives and teaches in China. She doesn't speak English yet but we don't think it will be long before she begins to. Naomi, her mother, speaks Chinese but there will be a blending of the two languages very soon I suspect.
After opening several presents (but certainly not all of them), she told Naomi that that was enough presents. She did not want to open any more. She wanted to play. She likes playing with 2 boys who are in our community, especially the older one. Of course she also decided that I would be a good person to play with so we ran around the room several times with her in the lead pulling me by the finger. Then I thought I'd fling her around a little. She's a solid little girl. We had a great time.
Here is a sentence for you to think about. "Happy is he whom riches fill not with vain-glory, nor poverty with sorrow." (from the Baha'i Writings)
