Arrival
Greetings from Tianjin, China. We arrived yesterday afternoon, went through immigration and customs without anyone looking at anything except our passports and entry declaration. It was the easiest pass through customs we, have ever encountered. Our contact at Tianjin Medical University (hereafter referred to as TJMU) met us right outside customs, got us to the van and brought us to our apartment. Our apartment is spacious but somewhat bare - today will be a big shopping expedition day. The couple that helped us get hired Wes and Pat, helped us get settled in with several things that are essential to life (a coffee pot and some dishes and a few other things). They graciously visited with us for a while then left us to take a nap. We met them for dinner last night at their apartment and got to see what ours might look like fixed up a little, then when I started falling asleep, we came back to our apartment and went to bed. It is Saturday morning, I'm about to head out to take a few pictures of the campus so maybe I'll be able to upload a few images today. We are very excited to be here. We look forward to the challenges ahead. If you have any questions please email them to us and we'll try to respond to them on the blog.

Dear Friends! I am so excited you are there and getting settled! I checked this a.m. 1/24 prior to work, and was SURE something would be here tonight! I hope you get the dental work you need, James, and the furnishings necessary for your comfort. Thank you for taking time out to share your adventures!
hugs & love,
jh
