I mentioned a bracelet I bought and some pearls we got as a gift for spending a certain amount of money (too much) at the department store. Here they are. The bracelet is laying by the map with the star by Emart which was our final destination for that day. I had to throw in the picture of James eating his monster sandwich. We picked up that bread on one of our outings. I don't remember where but I bet HE does!
It's been a good day today except the work is to begin. I have started preparing for my classes and know it will take me 4 times as long as an experienced teacher at least. Then I have to get up there and teach them. Oh my gosh, help me, Lord. I do know about myself that if I have enough time and resources I can pull things together eventually. So, hopefully my time will not run out and my resources ( 2 young Chinese women working in the nursing department) will be available and able to understand my questions. The couple who recruited us will return on the 14th and we hopefully leave on the 16th for Macau so I will have a little time to talk to them and maybe get some questions answered in those 2 days.
For those who have asked about James tooth - yes, it is much better. It is still tender when he eats some things but not always. He seems to be eating well to me..... He returns to the dentist in a couple weeks. Thanks for asking.
(James): Yes the tooth is much better. I actually thought I had mentioned something about that one other time but I must have dreamed it because people keep asking. It's only news when it hurts, folks. How many of you greet someone by saying: "Hi, my teeth don't hurt today?" If I haven't thanked you all for the prayers let me do the official thank you now. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. I feel very personally blessed and grateful that so many responded with such care in their kind words.
I do know where we got the bread but it would take me about a paragraph to explain it and once I did I'd have lost the audience for the blog. We got it the day we went to the walking street and I remember going into this bakery and picking up a loaf of bread and this lady walking up to me and saying "may I help you". I was shocked and I think it showed because she smiled at me and welcomed me to Tianjin. I asked where she was from. She is from Indonesia. I keep thinking what a small world it is. Linda remembers her as the lady with the cute hair cut. She was very courteous.
