We went to our vegetable market this afternoon. Nothing special about that we bought a lot of the same things we always buy; broccoli, snow peas, hot peppers, green beans, something like a squash, some boc choi, a couple of hot peppers and strawberries. Has Linda mentioned how good the strawberries are here right now? The first few times we went to the market they didn't look very good, then last week they really perked up. We've bought them twice and they are really sweet and juicy. I'm only writing this because it's February and I'm thinking either the strawberries there are nonexistent, not very good or very expensive. So eat your hearts out. On the way home we stopped at one of the street corner fruit stands that pop up everywhere around Chinese New Year. They must sell these boxes of fruit for people to give as gifts. People must make money at these because every time we buy something at one of these stands and pay with a big bill the vendor pulls out a thick wad of bills from which he/she makes change.
