The changing face of Tianjin

I have been noticing how Tianjin is changing. I have talked about how new buildings are going up all the time. Now building are coming down all around us. Both a few blocks north and a few blocks south of us apartment bldgs are being torn down. The latest one are a short two blocks from here right along the canal by our house. It is an interesting site so one day I took my camera to get some pictures.
It seems that everywhere we look there is destruction and construction. In some ways China is a great analogy for the twin processes Baha'is see at work in the world today. The tearing down of the old world order and the building up of a new world order ( and not a political one). The problem with this analogy and China is that the new buildings put up here are often just as temporary as the ones they are replacing.
I have been following the NCAA tournament in my own way - not watching any games but reading game summaries and for all my Missouri basketball fans - Al in particular, my heart goes out to you in their loss to Connecticut. It looks like if those players stay put that MO will make a run next year. Wouldn't that be great. Missouri in the Final Four. I'm still a big basketball fan but most of what we get here in the paper is pro basketball. I'm not much of an internet sports junkie so I don't do much all year in college basketball until the road to the final four begins and my interest heats up. I can't help myself. It is in my blood.
I have not gone to English Corner at Nankai University on Sunday morning for three weeks. It was just too cold this morning and I have a cold to boot - even though I am on the mend. I am really hoping that by next weekend the weather turns for the better and I can go without worrying about my feet freezing. I am sure that everyone in Tianjin is ready for warmer weather. The long range forecast is good.
I keep thinking that there is another more interesting topic I wanted to write about but it escapes me and no amount of prattling on about things seems to bring it back. So this is now the end of this post.
